SPINAL FLOW
What is Spinal Flow?
The Spinal Flow Technique is a powerful way to heal from pain, discomfort, and illness. By targeting specific points on the sacrum and cranium, your body can release three types of stress blockages: physical, emotional, and chemical. This gentle approach taps into your body’s natural ability to heal itself, creating lasting change from within.
In Spinal Flow, seven key spinal "gateways" can develop blockages that may lead to specific health issues. For example, a blockage in the power gateway might affect reproductive health, while blockages in the pause or center gateways can relate to headaches or breathing difficulties.
This 7 gateways chart shows how blockages in specific areas of the spine can result in specific illnesses, diseases and conditions. Regular sessions promote faster healing as blockages are cleared.
Spinal Flow practitioners assess posture and these gateways to identify blockages and create tailored treatment plans to help restore balance and wellbeing.

Multiple sessions scheduled close together accelerate the release of blockages and long held tension patterns in the spine, helping restore healthy function throughout the body.
Benefits
Promotes a calm, regulated internal state, as gentle spinal stimulation supports parasympathetic activation and whole‑system relaxation
Reduces overall stress and tension, as it down regulates the stress response and decreases muscular and fascial holding patterns
Enhances emotional regulation and reduces reactivity through improved autonomic balance
Releases physical restrictions, and encourages softening of spinal, muscular and connective tissue tension
Supports postural ease and mobility, resulting in improved alignment and freer movement patterns
Improves energy flow and vitality, which supports more efficient physiological functioning and reduced internal resistance
Enhances cognitive clarity, with improved ease, presence and mental focus as the nervous system settles
Supports the body’s natural healing processes, and creates conditions favourable for restoration and recovery
Boosts overall wellbeing, with increased ease, balance and whole system coherence

How does your body create spinal blockages?

Your body’s always looking out for you, trying to protect you from injury and pain. When stress hits, it sends cortisol and adrenaline levels soaring, which your body recognizes as a threat. As a result, your muscles tighten up, and your nervous system gears up for that “fight or flight” mode, instead of staying in the “rest and digest” state it should be in.
The problem is, most of us live in a constant state of physical, emotional, and chemical stress. This ongoing pressure builds up tension throughout the body, creating blockages between the vertebrae in your spine.
Since your nerves run from your spine to every part of your body, these blockages end up squeezing those nerves, preventing your body from functioning the way it should. When your nervous system gets thrown off balance, pain, disease, and illness are often the result.
This diagram illustrates the nerves and the organs to which they connect. The spinal gateways, identified by clusters of nerve endings, serve as key points of connection. When a gateway becomes blocked, it’s possible to trace which nerves are impacted and understand how this may affect specific organs and contribute to certain conditions. In other words, the pain and symptoms are your body’s way of signaling that chronic stress is pulling you further from a healthy, balanced state.
Examples of stressors that create blockages

Physical Stress
Accidents · Falls · Injuries
Prolonged sitting or standing · Stomach sleeping · Poor posture
Childbirth (your own birth or giving birth)
Repetitive Movements, like bending or twisting · Heavy Lifting · Physical Labor
Inflammation · Extreme Sports · Dehydration
Lack of Exercise · Inadequate Self-care

Chemical Stress
Environmental toxins · Prescription or over the counter medications
Alcohol · Processed foods & additives · Tobacco · Recreational drugs
Hormonal imbalance · Mold · Pesticides · Water contaminants · Fragrances
Microplastics · Heavy metals · EMF radiation

Emotional Stress
Feeling unloved or unworthy · Unsafe childhood or living situation
Physical, sexual or verbal abuse · Financial strain · Bullying
Pressure from parents or oneself · Exclusion or abandonment
Treated as ‘less than’ · Divorce (your own or your parents’) · Losing a loved one and more
Mental load or workload · Learning disorder · Addiction

How can you heal?
Your body doesn’t just know how to protect itself – it also knows how to heal itself. You’re born with an innate wisdom that keeps your heart beating, your lungs breathing, your food digesting, your cells regenerating, bones healing, and even curing common colds. This powerful intelligence goes by many names: life force, qi/chi, prana, source energy, and flow.
Spinal Flow and Breathwork are practices that boost the movement of cerebral spinal fluid, amplifying your life force energy. This flow clears blockages, removes toxins, and helps balance your nervous system, putting your body in the perfect state for healing and overall wellness.
What Happens During a Session?

Initial Assessment:
A session typically begins with a consultation where the practitioner asks about the individual’s health history, physical complaints, and any emotional or mental stresses. The practitioner will also perform an assessment to determine where there may be restrictions or misalignments in the spine that could be causing interference in the energy flow.
Spinal Flow Activation:
The practitioner then uses their hands to apply a light touch along the access points on the sacrum and sphenoid / occiput area of the skull. The goal is to gently "unlock" areas of tension and allow the body to release blockages by promoting the flow of the cerebral spinal fluid.
